Notes on our bed vacancies

Please note that the numbers of adult inpatient vacancies shown in the table above are total figures for vacant beds on our different wards and services, such as our age-specific wards, our acute care ward, our addiction centre, and more. Additionally, the figures reflect vacancies at midnight on the given date, and so may not include admissions that are scheduled to take place in the following 24 hours.

In addition to our inpatient services, we operate a Homecare Hub, through which our multidisciplinary teams provide comprehensive care to service users remotely in their own homes. We also provide day care services through our Wellness and Recovery Centre and outpatient care through our Dean Clinic network.

When we receive a referral to our services, we complete an assessment to identify the service that would be most appropriate to the person's needs. While we may have vacancies available at a given time, these vacancies may not currently be in wards or services that best meet the person's needs. Because of this, there can be a period of time between a referral being received and the person beginning treatment.

Please be assured that, following assessment, our team aims to identify and make the most appropriate service available to people as soon as possible.
