The Bipolar Recovery Programme is an online group programme which offers support and education for people living with bipolar disorder.
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder where a person experiences extreme changes in their mood, which can range from depressed mood to an extreme high, or manic episode.
The Bipolar Recovery Programme offers education and support for people living with bipolar disorder or the symptoms linked with it.
There are four elements to the programme:
- Bipolar Programme Workshop
- Bipolar Recovery Programme
- Bipolar Programme Aftercare
- Bipolar Support Seminar.
The Bipolar Support Seminar can be attended by a friend or family member also to provide helpful information and strengthen the person’s support network.
The programme is run by a mental health team with a wide range of skills and expertise. It is currently being delivered online.
GPs can refer people to take part in the programme. Inpatient service users here in SPMHS can also be referred by their multidisciplinary teams. The programme team will carry out an assessment to make sure it best suits the person’s needs.
