The Dean Clinic Galway delivers care at an outpatient or community-based level to adults aged over 18. Care is delivered in-person or remotely, depending on what is best for the person.
We offer person-centred, problem-focused therapy, which caters to a range of mental health difficulties, such as:
- Anxiety
- Addiction and dual diagnosis
- Bipolar disorder
- Depression
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Psychosis
- Stress-related disorders.
We can also provide access to inpatient or Homecare services, day programmes and specialist treatment programmes in St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS), where appropriate for the person.
Therapies and groups
We provide individual and day care group programmes, and educational and mental health awareness groups. We also offer psychotherapeutic groups on an individual needs basis.
These programmes and groups include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Psychology groups
- Recovery-based groups.
If you are not currently receiving care in SPMHS, you will need a GP referral to access the Dean Clinic Galway. If you are a service user in SPMHS’ inpatient or Homecare services or day programmes, you may be referred to the Dean Clinic by your multidisciplinary team.

Where to find the Dean Clinic Galway
The Dean Clinic Galway is located at Merchant’s Square, Merchant’s Road in Galway City.
There is a paid car park available near the clinic.
There are several bus routes that pass close to the Dean Clinic Galway; all bus routes to Eyre Square are within a 15 minute walk from the clinic. Galway train station is also a 10 minute walk from the clinic.
