Exploring group programmes in the treatment of ongoing mental health difficulties

Exploring group programmes in treating mental health: a group of people sit in a circle talking together.

St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) is delighted to host the sixth and final instalment in our GP Webinar Series for 2022.

The GP Webinar Series covers a wide range of mental health topics for GPs and healthcare professionals.

Taking place from 7.30pm on 6 December, Edel Fortune, Programme Manager here at SPMHS, will focus on group or day programmes for people experiencing ongoing mental health difficulties, exploring how these programmes can be of benefit.

Group programmes fall into a number of categories, including:

  • diagnosis-specific
  • recovery-focused
  • relapse prevention.

This hour-long webinar will explore the types of day programmes available at SPMHS and who these programmes are suitable for. GPs will also learn about how their patients can access day programmes at SPMHS, the referral criteria, the referral process, and clinical responsibility.

There will be a short question and answer session during the webinar. You can also submit your questions in advance by emailing communications@stpatsmail.com.

The Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) has awarded this webinar one Continuous Professional Development (CPD) point. Please note, CPD can only be awarded if you attend the live webinar. You will automatically receive your CPD certificate to the email address you used to register, with this arriving up to two weeks after the event.

Registration is free but essential.
