A webinar about depression aimed at GPs will be held on Tuesday, 18 October, as part of our GP webinar series.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), depression now affects over 300 million people across the world, making it the world’s leading cause of mental health concerns.
On Tuesday, 18 October, between 7.30pm to 8.30pm, we will hold a GP webinar on depression. Sean Lonergan, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist here at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS), will explore how GPs can treat and support their patients experiencing depression.
This one-hour webinar will explore:
- the symptoms of depression
- the differences between depression and other mental health difficulties
- types of depression diagnoses
- risk factors and stressors
- supporting your patients
- when to refer to specialist care.
GPs can submit their questions in advance by emailing communications@stpatsmail.com or during the webinar using the Q&A function on Zoom.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) recognition for this event will be sought from the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP). Please note, CPD is only available to those who attend the live webinar. You will automatically receive your CPD certificate to the email address used to register after the event – please allow up to two weeks for receipt.
