The first instalment of the 2025 GP Webinar Series from St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) takes place from 7pm on 19 February.
The webinar will see Dr Kevin O’Hanrahan, Senior Clinical Psychologist here at SPMHS explore the topic of deliberate self-harm (DSH).
During this hour-long webinar, Dr O’Hanrahan will explore DSH. He will cover the conceptualisation of DSH as the individual’s best solution to a problem right now, and discuss how to address DSH in the GP surgery.
While DSH is a complex issue that cannot be resolved quickly, the presentation will cover several important principles and approaches that can have a positive impact in a patient’s recovery.
GPs can submit their questions in advance by emailing communications@stpatricks.ie or during the webinar using the Q&A function on Zoom.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) recognition will be sought from the Irish College of General Practitioners for this event, with points available confirmed closer to the time.
