The Women's Mental Health Network (WMHN) invites you to join a free learning and networking event in January 2024.

The event, Resilience and Strength: Women’s Experiences of Mental Health and Long-Term Physical Health Conditions will be held on Wednesday, 29 January.

It is taking place from 10am to 12.30pom in the Lecture Hall of St Patrick's University Hospital (SPUH) in Dublin 8.

About the event

The WMHN is a network of people and organisations interested in women's mental health, and is run in partnership between St Patrick's Mental Health Services (SPMHS) and the National Women's Council (NWC).

This WMHN event aims to explore the intersection between long-term physical health conditions – such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia and endometriosis - and women’s mental health.

Speakers will include Lisa-Claire Walsh and Robyn Murray, Co-Directors of the Her Voice Project; Martina Phelan, Chairperson of Chronic Pain Ireland; and a clinician with expertise on psychological perspectives on enduring physical health conditions.

Speakers will present on psychological perspectives, daily living challenges and strategies to manage those, and mental health and wellbeing supports.

Who the event is for

This event is aimed at health and mental health professionals and students; women with lived experience of mental health difficulties and long-term physical health conditions; advocacy groups; and anyone interested in women's mental health-related topics. You do not have to be a member of the WMHN to attend.

The overall aim of this event is to increase and improve awareness and understanding of mental health implications for, and the related needs of, women experiencing long-term physical health conditions. It also aims to highlight the resilience and strength required to navigate these experiences.
