The Women’s Mental Health Network (WMHN) invites you to join a free learning and networking event in May 2025.
The event, From challenge to change: The climate crisis and women’s mental health, will be held on Tuesday, 13 May.
It is taking place from 10am to 12.30pm at the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) on Green Street in Dublin 7.
About the event
The WMHN is a network of people and organisations interested in women's mental health, and is run in partnership between St Patrick's Mental Health Services (SPMHS) and the National Women's Council (NWC).
This WMHN event will explore the connection between the climate crisis and women’s mental health. It aims to highlight how climate change is not only an environmental issue, but also a public health and social justice challenge – especially for women.
We’ll hear from speakers with expertise in mental health, climate action, and community leadership, who will share both professional insights and personal experiences. The event will also mark the launch of the Health Chapter of the National Women’s Council’s Feminist Communities for Climate Justice Baseline Research Report.
Topics will include:
- the mental health impacts of climate change on women
- the lived experience of women facing both climate-related and health-related inequalities
- the role of health professionals in climate and mental health advocacy.
This event creates a space for connection, reflection, and shared learning on an urgent and often overlooked topic.
