Artist and television personality Don Conroy today announced Róisín O'Farrell as the winner of our annual Favourite Painting competition.
O'Farrell's Further to Fly scooped the prize after receiving the highest number of votes in the competition, which ran from 16 July to 19 August.
This year, Favourite Painting saw some of Ireland's top galleries enter a total of 19 paintings to an exhibition on display in the Arts Space of St Patrick's University Hospital (SPUH). Hundreds of service users, staff and visitors voted for their preferred choice, either in the Arts Space or through an online form hosted here on our website.
Don Conroy joined service users, staff, members of our Art Committee and representatives from some of the participating galleries at a short ceremony in SPUH to announce the winner of the competition.
The paintings will remain on display in the Arts Space for the coming days.
We would like to congratulate Róisín O'Farrell and thank all the artists and galleries involved in this year's event.
