We provide mental health services from central Dublin locations, meaning you can easily travel to work from anywhere in the country and be close to the city centre to explore all that Dublin has to offer. 

If you are a citizen from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we offer employment permits with no cost to you. Should you apply for a position with SPMHS, we will offer you individual assistance from our Human Resources Department throughout your application.

If you decide to work with us, we will offer you a permanent position and a generous remuneration package, along with many desirable benefits. We offer a higher-than-average starting salary of €43,396, with pay increases for length of service. This is a minimum starting salary which may increase if you have prior experience to ensure you are ahead of your previous pay point.

All nurses who start work with us at SPMHS automatically join our enhanced nurse salary scale, starting on Point 2 at the very minimum. This is a huge benefit of working with us, as you do not need to attend an interview or meet additional criteria before being assigned to this enhanced scale.  

You will also be offered a sign-on bonus of €3,000 (after six months’ service) and a ward location allowance of €1,995 on top of your basic pay.

Our locations are central to Dublin and accessible by public transport, making it easy for you to travel to work. We have Bike to Work and TaxSaver Commuter Ticket transport schemes available, as well as free onsite parking if you decide to drive, subject to availability.

St Patrick’s University Hospital is a three-minute walk from Dublin’s biggest railway hub, Heuston train station; it is also directly on the city’s tram system, the LUAS red line, and within walking distance for Dublin and cross-county buses. St Patrick’s, Lucan is on the N4 and close to the M50, two major roads connecting the city and rest of Ireland, with multiple public transport options.
